Frequently Asked Questions

What is Stingers Lacrosse?

Stingers Lacrosse is an elite, not for profit, girls lacrosse club based in Orlando, Florida.  Our purpose is to promote the sport among individuals in grades 2 through 12, with an emphasis on, but not strictly limited to, those attending the Catholic Schools in the Central Florida area.  Our goal is to provide the best environment for players to learn, improve, and excel at the game.

How are teams selected?

  • High School: Our 2020 fall high school program is by invitation only.

  • Youth: Our youth teams are for girls in grades 2-8. This is an instructional/recreational program and there are no try-outs.  There are fall and spring seasons, and players can participate in one or both seasons.

How long does the season last?

  • High School:  We participate in a league with other local high school level lacrosse teams in the fall. Practices begin in August and the 2020 season will last through mid-October . The team may also participate in various tournaments throughout the fall and early winter.

  • Youth:  The youth season lasts approximately 8 weeks, with practice beginning 2-3 weeks prior to the start of the season.  The fall season runs from September through October, and spring generally runs February through May.  Games are played at various Central Florida locations on Saturdays. Occasionally the teams will travel to other areas in Florida for games.

When/where is practice?

Practices for all teams are usually held 2 days per week.  Locations/days/times are determined prior to the start of each season and we make every effort to hold them at a centrally located facility near Bishop Moore Catholic High School.

What if I have to miss practice or a game?

Please contact your coach via phone or email.

What equipment do I need and how much does it cost?

Each player is responsible for providing her own equipment and water for practices/games. A list of required equipment can be found here.

What are the club costs?

A breakdown of the various costs/fees for each of the programs can be found here.

Travel expenses for out of town events are not a part of the season fees and are the responsibility of those players / families attending the event.

Is there a refund policy?

While we are hopeful the 2020 season(s) will proceed without any delays or disruptions, we understand that factors beyond our control could affect the season. In the event the league cancels the season or other factors make us unable to play the season prior to the start of any practices, we will refund your registration, less any costs already incurred by Stingers. If the season is canceled after practices have started, we will do our best to refund as much of the program cost as possible. We will not be able to issue refunds if you decide at any point and/or for any reason to withdraw your daughter from the program.

US Lacrosse memberships are not administered by Stingers, and accordingly, Stingers will not provide refunds for membership costs.

Will my daughter be insured?

All members of the Stingers MUST be members of US Lacrosse (and most of the leagues/tournaments we participate in require US Lacrosse membership as well).  With all players belonging to US Lacrosse, we are covered under their insurance policy.

Who do I contact if I have questions?
